Creating Futures Charity Golf Classic

Thanks to our 90 IT leaders and sponsors that hit the links and raised more than $100k for training military veterans for new IT careers. The golfers participated in our 2010 Creating Futures Charity Golf Classic at the TPC San Antonio golf course on August 9. View the photos of the golfers as they hit the links.

Randy Trask of Pearson VUE and the 2010 Golf Tournament Chair, commented, "As a big supporter of the CompTIA Educational Foundation’s Creating Futures program for several years, I have seen the program grow to where thousands of people are receiving the help they need to start a career in IT. The Charity Golf Classic is a major source of funding to help all the people who want to join our industry."

The past three Creating Futures Charity Golf Classics have raised more than $466,000 in total from sponsors and the CompTIA Board matching program. Event sponsors for 2010 invited their partners to play golf at TPC San Antonio, a brand new golf course. Breakaway attendees also could buy foursomes to play in the golf tournament.

Beyond meeting their philanthropic goals and receiving tax benefits, event sponsors reaped extra exposure to CompTIA members, Breakaway attendees and the media through the CompTIA Educational Foundation’s pre-show and on-site marketing of the event.
