We provide training and certifications for groups of people historically under-represented in the information technology industry to help them achieve successful, long-term IT careers. Returning veterans, at-risk youth, dislocated workers and individuals with disabilities are a few of the groups that can benefit from our premier program, Creating Futures. We aim to provide the IT industry with a diverse, well-trained workforce.
Thank you for helping us to match the $1 million challenge grant in 2009 awarded by the CompTIA Board of Directors. The challenge grant matched on a dollar-for-dollar basis up to $1 million in cash and in-kind donations to our Creating Futures program. We exceeded the grant with $1,083,000 raised in 2009, funding more than 854 individuals in need with IT training and certification.
