IT Merit Awards

The CompTIA Educational Foundation IT Merit Awards recognize outstanding accomplishments by students who have trained for and received a CompTIA certification. Only students in our Education to Careers and CompTIA Learning Alliance programs are eligible. Merit awards of $250 are awarded twice a year to learners of all ages to help them pursue careers in IT.

Funding for the awards comes from an industry endowment to the CompTIA Educational Foundation. Since the program began in 2001, more than 400 students in the United States and Canada have received a cash award to be used toward their continuing education.

May 2010 Merit Winners

To be eligible for a Merit Award, students must have earned a CompTIA certification after training from a CompTIA educational partner, such as a high school, community college or not-for-profit program. Commercial training providers and their students are not eligible. To help all students have a chance at winning a Merit Award, only one award per student is allowed for the lifetime of the student.

Nomination deadlines are May 1 and Nov. 15 each year. Organizations with a winning student will receive an award presentation package, including a media kit and suggestions for an award presentation.
